She signed over 60(!?!?!) valentines so that each kid at her school, plus her teachers, plus a few friends outside of school could get a valentine from her. We had to pace out the signing and valentine assembly through 3 days, but I think she got a lot better at writing her name over the course of that chore. It was pretty great to see that the other kids at her school participated in the "all school" valentine exchange option--she had a decorated lunch bag chock full of valentines. She was on cloud 9, going though them all (and doing the occasional twirl).
A fun dinner recently was our 3-person sushi making party at home. Here, Rosalie demonstrates how to make a California Roll. Spread sushi rice onto the nori. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the rice.
Flip the whole operation over.
Add cucumber.
Add avocado.
Then do the rest. (Add crab, roll it up, have Mommy slice it, etc. I got hungry and stopped taking pictures).
You might be wondering if I am going to get around to addressing the title of tonight's post: is there skiing? Will there be a cute video of this? This post is a real nail biter. Wait no longer, here's the skiing! Rosalie had a great first lesson up at Snoqualmie Pass on Monday. The three of us had a lovely trip over. Rosalie got her skiing lesson (she had been wanting to do this for some weeks now), Michael did some snowboarding, and I had a dreamy 3 hour book-reading session in the cafe. Might do some cross-country skiing in the future. However, downhill is definitely not in the cards for me. Anyway, without further ado, here's a short vid of Rosalie showing off her skills as instructed by her teacher!
Though I haven't been blogging a ton lately, that doesn't mean that we haven't been whipping out our phone cameras all the time when something cute's going on. Especially with Rosalie-as-art-director. She instigated most of these shots herself.
She rides by herself now! Big kid.
A fish puzzle she put together at the Zoomasium. The cool placement around the eyes was an accident but a cool one.
Jungle gym hammock! It's a Reggae video in February, mon.
Skiing is not the only death-defying thing our daughter can do now.
What did Leah have in her mouth? I can't remember. But don't they look like they could be sisters?
"Help, I'm stuck in a rock with no way to get out! Except for this giant hole and the stairs behind me!"
This shot below cracks me up. You know you're a desperate Seattleite when you pull your phone out to take a picture of the sun in the winter because it is so miraculous and you want to take it home with you.
Rosalie's "friend" that she visits every year outside the pediatrician's office. If I had been organized I could have taken a picture of her next to that kid each time.
Rosalie's realllly into shots of her interacting with art.
Exhibit C.
P.S. the blog is still not private. I'm almost there! Thanks for the patience.
