First Snow!

First Steps

As you can see, Rosalie is doing a great job of standing on her own! Michael and I have each seen her making a step on her own this week. A few days ago Michael saw her transfer herself from one cruising object (a chair) to another one a few feet away. Then, this morning, she just moved herself to a standing position, then stepped forward toward some toys, then satdownreallyfast. It was amazing to see! We are so proud of her.

Putting the Final Touches on the Turkey

Thanksgiving was delicious--we had Smokin' Pete's take care of the turkey this year. Wow, it was good. Rosalie loved it, too!

Rosalie and Owain have fun at the toddler gym in the "kitchen." Plenty 'o' plastic food to eat!

Want a Grape?

Rosalie has started to become generous with her food. So begins the Gifts of Soggy Cheerios! Also available are half-eaten grapes (pictured here) and partially-chewed pizza crusts dipped in pear yogurt. Sometimes she might just be displaying it for you to observe, not to actually take. Either way, it is a wonderful gift.

Rosalie Takes a Stand on Election Day

Well, in this shot she's not standing, but later in the day--just hours before Obama became our 44th president--Rosalie stood unaided for 5 full seconds! She had no idea it was happening; she was distracted by her great desire for the bottle I was making her.

Baby Chick Causes Cute Overload

Rosalie's Halloween costume breaks barriers of maximum cuteness. At the baby Halloween party she tolerated her hood very well ...and when we took the hood off to keep her cool, we just said she was a "chicken with her head cut off."

Singing Rosalie

Rosalie was 9 months old two days ago! Where does the time go? Yesterday we went to her music/dance class, and she was the only baby who was "singing--" and she did it for most of the class...when she wasn't crawling around to visit the other babies and moms in the circle. She made the teachers and other moms smile and laugh..."What a happy girl!" they commented. "She's going to be a singer!"
